MALNER'S KITCHEN: CIDER WITH CHICKEN AND APPLES

04. 11. 2023

Cider and food go hand in hand. You can enjoy it in a glass or use it in cooking and baking desserts.

It adds a unique fruity note and a subtle refreshment that enhances the flavor of the dish.

We've tried an exquisite recipe that we want to share. Sweet and refreshing. You must try it!

Ingredients:

  • 500 g chicken
  • 2 bottles of Bora cider
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 2 apples
  • butter
  • salt, pepper
  • garlic
  • thyme

Procedure: Slice the apples. In a cast-iron pot (or regular pot), add half of the butter and then the apple slices. Cook them on each side for about 5 minutes. Then remove them from the pot and set aside for later.

Season the chicken with pepper and salt, then place it in the pot and sauté until nicely browned on the outside (about 4 minutes on each side). Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside for later.

Add the remaining butter to the pot, along with chopped onion, garlic, and fresh thyme. Sauté for about 5 minutes over medium heat. Pour in the cider, reduce the heat, add the chicken, and simmer for about 35 minutes on low heat.

Finally, add the sautéed apples. The choice of side dish is up to you, but we recommend toasted slices of bread! Serve with a glass of cider.

Enjoy your meal!
